Posted on Mon, 9 Jan 2017
Question: My boyfriend has a bump on his shafts that is a bump (thickness and height of the pink part of an eraser on a pencil) with a black dot in the middle of it. I was tempted to pop it but he wouldn't let me as he said he's had this since he was little. What could it be and is it safe?

Brief Answer:
Molluscum or lipoma

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
The bump on the penile shaft as you have described can be infection like molluscum contagiosum or can be a lipoma, as it can be present for a long time.
If it is molluscum, then it can be sexually transmitted.
I will suggest him to consult a venereal disease specialist for proper examination and treatment accordingly.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
