Suggest Treatment For Painful Swallowing And Low Voice After Injury

Question: I got elbowed in the throat and now my voice is low im a female. It hurts to swallow. It just happened 3 hours ago at 10pm eastern time now it is 1am. I left out the house to go to the store and I realized I have mucous drain when sitting up.It still hurts. How can I make my throat heal, how much time will it take?

Thanks for posting the query

After going through the history I do understand that there could be swelling inside the throat causing the discomfort and pain.

My suggestion to you is to try taking OTC pain reliever such as diclofenac or ibuprofen (which ever is available). Drink plenty of warm water. Avoid chilled food and beverages.

It is hard to assess this concern without a physical examination, but I don't foresee a serious problem. However if the symptoms persist, consult your doctor for a complete examination of the larynx.

Recovery assessment is possible once we are able to examine and assess this injury.
