Posted on Mon, 9 Jan 2017
Question: Hi I have a lump under my breast and I am not sure what it is. It's very painful and feels like a stinging feeling whenever I move like getting out of bed. The lump is red and purple and has a small black center that looks like a tiny opening. Can I get rid of this myself ?

Brief Answer:
Explained

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

Based on your description, it appears to be an infected cyst. Antibiotics and NSAIDS would be required for treatment, initially. If it resolves then no further treatment may be needed. However, if its an abscess or persists then the infected area may require incision and drainage. For any suspicious lesion, an excisional biopsy may also be required. Please dont intervene yourself and get it examined by your GP.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks
