Question: I have a small lump on what I believe is called the frenulum ? The piece of skin which joins my upper lip to my upper gums. It is right at the base of the upper frenulum almost on the upper gum itself. It feels small but slightly hard. Should I worry about this ? It is painful

Brief Answer:
Dont need to worry

Detailed Answer:
hi and welcome. when frenulum is normal part of oral mucosa and it varies in anatomy. it may be more or less expressed, but in most cases it doesn't cause pain or any symptoms. if it hurts,it may be sign of mouth ulcer and rarely it is cause by frenulum itself.however,if pain persist, you should see ororinolaringologist for possible small procedure. wish you good health.regards
