Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thank for your query, albeit short and specific.
To recapitulate: Male/87 - surgically removed bunion 6 months ago by a Podiarist - not healed - also have vascular insufficiency in the same leg - healing ulcer - use compression boot to aid healing - wants treatment for seriously hurting bunion - have old sample of Mupirocin -

With the history you have provided, this looks to be non-healing ulcers with pain.
You were operated 6 months ago.
Since there is vascular insufficiency, compression boots will cause more insufficiency by pressure on the already less blood supply, hence I would advise you to stop using it.
The causes of insufficiency should be found out and treated ; only proper blood supply will help healing. You may then need medicines to improve the blood supply to the limb and the wounds in particular.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
- Consult your Doctor and get a reference to the Specialist to have proper diagnosis and proper management.
- Mupirocin is an antibiotic and hence helps only in control of infection.
- Please post clear and focused photographs, they help in on-the-spot diagnosis.
- Also post the reports or opinions of the Doctors about insufficiency so that we can discuss further aiding in diagnosis and further management.
