Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Anal Area
Question: Hello,
I have been suffering from pain in the anal area for more than a year now. The pain comes and goes and is mild but bothering. It can disappear completely and come back a few weeks later. It occurs when sitting for a long amount of time only.
I consulted in person a doctor that examined me. He told me there was no sign of hemorrhoids. It was probably just a skin irritation and to keep the area clean. That was 3 months ago and the situation has not changed.
I examined myself and it seems like I have a purple ring around the anus. Also it can feel a bit swollen when i touch it while standing.
I live a healthy lifestyle and my bowel habits are normal, although frequent ( 2 times a day)
Please help, thanks !

Brief Answer:
Sounds like hemorrhoids to me, needs diagnosis
Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and welcome.
Thank for your writing to us.
I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. The purple ring around the anus does sound like a similar presentation to hemorrhoids which is why I would recommend a visit to your doctor now so that establishing a diagnosis would be much more easier.
Some of the main causes for such a presentation are straining while passing stools, constipation, dietary factors, lifting heavy objects, etc. Please avoid all of these and eat a high fiber diet, and go about very mild walking exercises, nothing strenuous.

Hello!
Thank you for your answer.
I was wondering if you saw the attached images of the affected area. I was also wondering what your thoughts where on the fact that I went to a doctor already to get examined, and he didn't see any hemorrhoids.
Is it possible that he missed them ?
Thanks!

Brief Answer:
May be because it was in a premature stage
Detailed Answer:
Hello once again sir.
I did get a chance to view the attached images and it does look like a developing hemorrhoid, which is why your doctor may have missed the diagnosis while examining you 3 months ago.
May be your developing condition was premature which is why your doctor may have missed the diagnosis. I would also like to add that your presentation and condition has not yet completely developed and is still developing, which means treating you can be much easier that a person with developed hemorrhoids. Please do seek help and go about lifestyle changes as well.
Best wishes.

Thanks again for the answer!
Last inquiry, is it uncommon that they stay in this developing(premature) state for years ? Because that's what has been happening. I have had this for more than a year, almost two.
Thanks a lot for the help !

Brief Answer:
Not common no; please do get a DRE conducted at the earliest
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
No it is not, if the predisposing and/or causative factors are present then it usually develops quite quickly. Please do get a physical and DRE (digital rectal examination) conducted at the earliest.
And please do not ever hesitate to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.
Best wishes.
