Suggest Treatment For Pain In Lower Back Part Of Gum

default
Posted on Fri, 11 Sep 2015
Question: Hi, my name is XXXXXXX I have been having pain in my lower back section of my gum line on my bottom jaw. I thought maybe it is my wisdom tooth coming in. I already have my top right and bottom left wisdom tooth in. It has been hurting for a while now and the tooth has yet to show through. but upon further inspection there is a lot of swelling further back then where the wisdom tooth would be. so I am now not sure if it really is my wisdom tooth that is causing the pain. I am already dealing with the fact I may have breast cancer and can't really afford another dental visit on top of the doc apt that I already have. Plus my car is taking a complete crap and so money is very tight right now.

Brief Answer:
Having pericoronitis in that region

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX

Thanks for writing in.

Your doubt is absolutely correct.Main reason behind your problem is impacted third molar in that region which has lead to inflammation of gingiva around crown leading to pericoronitis. In such condition you should start with a course of analgesic & antibiotic like diclo- para- serratio & amoxiclav 625 twice a day for 5 days.If problem still persists then get it extracted once inflammation subsides.

Visit your dentist for further treatment plan.

Hope I answered your query

Wishing you good health
