Question: Dear Doctor,
15 days ago I had got a horizontal strain at the back of left thigh. It is painful when I run upstairs, bend forward and when I put my legs upwards for kicking football. A friend of mine said( from his experience), it might be Hamstring Strain. I have a football match on 7th November. I want your kind advice and suggestion

Brief Answer:
Avoid any stress or heavy exercise.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The pain is likely to be due to a muscle strain due to overuse. This is not likely to be related to hamstring. For proper healing rest is a must. The medicines you have been given are pain killers. But rest is necessary for proper healing. Do avoid all the painful activities to avoid any further damage to the area. Better to avoid the match on 7th Nov.
I hope this answers your query.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
Wishing you good health.
Regards.
Dr. Praveen Tayal.
