Question: Three weeks ago I painted my porch. I was on my knees for two days. Since then I have not been able to walk. Back seems o.k. but legs are not coordinated. What's wrong?

Brief Answer:
Overuse knee injury

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. It sounds like you have caused an overuse knee injury, from the excessive weight applied onto the knee region.

The following are my recommendations:

+Taking your age into consideration sir, I would have to suggest an x-ray of both knees just to clearly understand the skeletal structure in the region. Your local doctor can review the X-ray and advise you accordingly on the report
+Rest as much as possible, especially from any activities that trigger pain like jogging, climbing stairs or coming down from them, running, etc.
+Ice application over the region
+Use medications to reduce any swelling and pain (e.g. ibuprofen, tylenol, etc.), but to be used in moderation
+Exercises to strengthen the region: This is very important. Some exercises include the mini-squat, clam, calf stretch, swimming, etc. Please do not stress on the region too much with the help of a chiropractor (as they tend to do this, instead of resting the region)

I hope and pray you find relief over time, but the results will take some time. Please feel free to write back to me in the meantime, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.
