Question: Hello

I am 23 years old,Male from XXXXXXX My height is 6 feet and weight 82 kg and I am pretty normal except this weird condition that has been robbing me from the best years of my life.

For the past 6 years,I have a constant sensation of heaviness+numbness+ stiffness in my right leg's below thigh region. There is no feeling of pain but still It causes a lot of discomfort and makes me anxious anywhere I go.My personality has completely changed because of this and I don't enjoy anything as I am always in discomfort. One more important thing is that I used to be really addicted to masturbation those days and I can surely say that whenever I pleasured myself, the tightness in my leg worsened.I am telling this because maybe its somehow related.

January this year,I went to see doc for asked me to get two tests done - Nerve Conduction Velocity test and Vitamin D+B12 test. The NCV test turned out to be normal.

But both Vitamin B12 and D levels were really low.Here is the test results Vitamin-D - http://imgur.com/IetcfWx and Vitamin B12 - http://imgur.com/nrCs32o

The doc prescribed me meds to up both vitamins level and asked me to report after 1 month.I took the meds but it only relieved the condition for like 20-30%.

So frustrated,I didn't went back and kept searching internet about possible solution when I learnt that Magnesium is essential for Vitamin-D absorption and the insufficiency of Vitamin-D is always accompanied with that of mag.So I started treating myself with 60,000 IU vitamin-D capsule once a week with Transdermal Ancient Minerals Mag oil every day.I have not been taking any B12 supps.

The condition is still like 40% solved. And as I mentioned before, whenever I ejaculate my sem**,condition worsens again.

Please help me docs.I want to end this misery and live life as I was destined too.

Sorry for the wall of text.

TL;DR : Feeling of tightness and numbness in the knee area and below knee area of right leg.Vitamin-D test result - http://imgur.com/IetcfWx and B12 test results - http://imgur.com/nrCs32o.Currently self administering with Ancient Minerals Magnesium oil and Vitamin-D 60,000 IU once a week.

Brief Answer:
Follow therapeutic guidelines for B12 and Vit D correction.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Sir.

I understand your query and concern.

I have gone through your uploaded reports as well.

You possibly seem to have severe Vit D and Vit B12 deficiency.

The persistent discomfort of the right leg is often exacerbated by masturbation since it can strain the common nerve supply of testicles and lower limb.Hence avoid masturbation at this point.

Since your NCV is normal, this offers a big relief.

Additionally you seem not take the right doses of Vit D and B12 for an appropriate time period as required. This is causing the lag for an adequate clinical response.

Recommended treatment for vitamin D–deficient adults is as follows

50,000 IU of vitamin D 2 or D 3 once weekly for 8 weeks
or
6000 IU/day of vitamin D 2 or D 3 for 8 weeks

When the serum 25(OH)D level(CHECK FOR THIS METABOLITE ONLY) exceeds 30 ng/mL, provide maintenance treatment of 1500-2000 IU/day.

Pertaining to B 12 correction the recommendation is Inj. methylcobalamin 1000 mcg IM/SC daily for 5 days followed by 1000 mcg/wk for 5 weeks, then 1000 mcg/mo for one year.Additionally with B12, tab Folic acid has to be taken 0.5 mg /day for 6-12 months.

Repeat B12 levels after completion of treatment.

The above recommendation will improve your symptoms to a great deal.

Magnesium supplementation is not necessary at this point along with Vit D.

Please check with your doctor if he shares my view and if can prescribe them to you.

Post your further queries if any.
Thank you.

Thank You for the detailed analysis doctor.

Should I visit the doctor or just take the medicines you advise me? Which specialty doctor should I visit?

Will I get completely normal again or there would be some effects left as the condition is 6years old?

What possibly could be the cause of low Vitamin levels as I get enough food and also I am non-veg?
