Question: My five-year old daughter has frequent nose bleeds followed by fainting. She has seen a neurologist and a cardiologist with no real conclusive results. What questions should we ask our doctors and what types of tests should we make sure they are doing?

Brief Answer:
Suggested the possibilities

Detailed Answer:
Hi...I understand you concern. I am herewith suggesting the possibilities -

1. Heart rhythm disorder - which you would have obviously ruled with the cardiologist.
2. Bleeding disorder - needs work up for too much fluidity of the blood.
3. Hypertension or hypotension - high or low blood pressure.
4. Thormbocytopenia due to any reason - low platelet count.
5. Drug abuse or overdose.

Test -
1. Complete blood count.
2. PT and aPTT.
3. Get a blood pressure checked.
4. Holter monitoring for continuous monitoring of ECG.
5. Echocardiogram of heart.
6. EEG to rule out seizure disorder.

I request you to upload the tests which have been done so far.

Regards - Dr. Sumanth
