Question: yes please. I have been having night sweats for about 1 and 1/2 months every night. I am 56 years old. I recently had a colonostopy and told the doctor I was having night sweats. He order some kind of blood test, and the results came back normal. He also checked my lymph nodes and didn't notice any abnormalaties. But, I keep having these night sweats and am concerned as to why. Can you tell me why I continue to have these night sweats in my neck and underarm region.

Brief Answer:
True night sweats are caused by endocrine disorders, infections etc..

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

A person may experience night sweats from overheated environment which does not have any underlying medical condition. If your room temperature has changed or you are wearing warm clothes which may cause sweating while you sleep.

True night sweats almost always have underlying medical condition in which a person experiences that all the clothes get soaked in the sweat. In general true night sweats are caused by endocrine disorders, infections (HIV, TB), certain type of cancers (lymphomas), autoimmune diseases or certain medications. Night sweats may also be caused by low testosterone in men. If you experience declining libido and a lack of energy you may get your testosterone level checked.
But if you do not have fever, weight loss, any pain in your body, fatigue, low energy, cough or other symptoms and your blood tests were normal you do not need to worry.

Hope, this information is helpful for you. Please, feel free to ask me if there is anything else you need to know.
Thank you
