Posted on Fri, 30 May 2014
Question: Symptoms: For past 3 years or so, occasional nausea following by sneezing. The more acute and sudden the nauseous feeling, the quicker and harder I sneeze; conversely, the more gradually the nausea builds, the more time passes before I sneeze. Sneezing instantly relieves the nausea. I am 63 yrs, female, 5'3", 120 lbs. About 9 yrs ago began testing and then various Rx treatment for GERD, settling on lansoprazole and improving gradually to just occasional use, recently adding raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar in warm water with 1 tsp honey. Consider my diet to be healthier than most; occasional glass of wine or cocktail (2 or less per wk). Daily Rx meds: duloxetine, lisinopril, diclofenac. Daily OTC meds: vit/min supp; fish oil; calcium carbonate; magnesium; vit c; vit d-3; glucosamine sulfate; red yeast rice w/co q-10; cetirizine hydrochloride; occasional Tums; simethicone; Pepcid Complete. Nausea more likely on an emptier stomach, but can occur throughout the day.

Brief Answer:
Nauses is most likely gut issue

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

If I were your treating doctor I would review your multiple medications. I sort them as essential, urgent and unnecessary. I would stop the non important like the supplements that you take.

Please note that all the research echo that supplements are unnecessary unless proven with symptoms or lab testing.

I would give importance to lansaprazole once again and make it once a day use.

You can take this opinion to your doctor and ask him.
