Myalgias

Detailed Answer:
THank you for contacting HCM wtih your health care concerns

I am sorry to hear that you are having muscle pain and can't find an answer. The most common cause of myalgia or muscle pain is medication and you have already stopped the most offending agent Lipitor. Any of the statin drugs can cause muscle pain. the second most common cause is autoimmune disorder like polymyalgia rheumatica. This is like rheumatoid arthritis but instead of attacking the joints polymyalgia Rheumatica attacks the muscles and can cause severe muscle pain. Your doctor would diagnose it with blood work specifically sed rate. Treatment is based on anti-inflammatories including prednisone. Another cause would be circulation issues where you don't get enough blood flow to the extremities and the muscle then starve for oxygen and food. This is better known as peripheral vascular disease. Treatment here is to improve circulation with medications exercise and lastly with surgery.

So in summary
1. Medications statins
2. Polymyalgia rheumatica
3. Peripheral vascular disease
