Suggest Treatment For Multiple Lumps In Breasts

Question: I am a 76yr old woman who has always been very cystic. I was given one injection of Prolia on Nov 23, 2016. Within 2 weeks is noticed numerous lumps in my breasts. I had a mameogram on Dec. 15th and a call back for a ultrasound 4 days later, scheduled for XXXXXXX 5th. The lumps have increased in size dramatically on the left breast. After the ultrasound, the radiologist said it was nothing. Since nobody had touched the lumps I went to an OBGYN and she sent me to a surgeon immediately. The surgeon said, he didn't want to drain them or aspirate them (as there were 6 on the right breast and 2 very large ones on the left breast), and should come back in 6 months. He said they were not malignant. I am still concerned as nobody will tell me why these are in my body. Help?

Brief Answer:
fibrocystic breasts

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
We do not know why some women develop benign breast cysts. If the radiologist, the gynecologist and the surgeon feel that they are benign then you can feel assured that they are not cancer. However they can still be painful. Here are some things you can do to ease the discomfort. Wear a sports bra for support, even while sleeping if you have pain at night. Use warm compresses for pain relief. Avoid all caffeine in tea, coffee and sodas. Eat a low fat diet. Avoid any sort of hormone therapy. If the pain is severe see your doctor again for another opinioin.
