Suggest Treatment For Multiple Deep Acne Scars On Face
Question: Hi Doctor, i have multiple deep acne scars on my face and few have left black marks especially near my eye. I want to remove those scars.

Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation/ PIH and Acne Scars are both complications of moderately severe to severe Inflammatory acne.
Therefore adequate treatment of acne is of utmost importance to the prevention of acne scars and pigmentation.
Since acne is common at your age therefore apart from treatment for PIH you must also follow a maintenance treatment protocol for acne in order to prevent new acne formation.
I suggest you to use a topical retinoid e.g Azaleic acid gel once or twice daily to the whole affected area. Rub in gently.
Azaleic acid is comedolytic as well as lightens pigmentation /PIH resulting from acne. Therefore it has dual benefit in acne by preventing new acne as well as fading away the pigmentation.
For PIH, you may also opt for a few sessions chemical peeling from a dermatologist. Glycolic acid chemical peel is particularly good for PIH.
Acne scars are irregularities in the smooth surface of skin. Atrophic acne scaring is the commonest type of scaring in acne.
There are various options that may be considered in order to improve the appearance of acne scars like chemical peeling, dermabrasion, fractional Co 2 Laser, dermaroller, subcision etc.
