Question: Hi I have had a lot of mucous from chest that for the most part I can cough up. Every day it seems to be less. This has been going on for 10 days. For the first couple of days I had a fever around 101. Now temp is normal but still bringing up mucous. No sore throat. Also in beginning I had slight headache which is also gone now.

Brief Answer:
Considerations

Detailed Answer:
Hello & thank you for submitting your question.

From what you describe, it sounds like you may have a resolving infection. However, given the persistence of chest congestion, it would be very reasonable for you to schedule an appointment with a physician for a physical examination & posible adjunct tests, especially since these symptoms have not resolved. The concern is that the congestion may predispose you to develop an infection in the lower airways.

Thank you & I hope you feel better soon,
Dr Galamaga
