Question: Whenever I eat, i have a feeling like rhe foid is stuck in my sinus cavity, like behind my pallette and up my nose. It is incredibly uncomfortable. Its as if the food is adhering to the back of my throat or something. It is XXXXXXX starting to cause a dore, raw feeling in my throat from constantly trying to cough up phlem to try to get the food out. I have gone to see both my GP and an ENT about this abd the best they can do is ssy that I may have GERD and prescribe me prilosec, which i have been on for a month now with no relief. The ENT did not see any masses or swelling. Do you have any idea what this could be or any idea what I could do to get some relief?

Brief Answer:
Stop clearing the throat.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

I had gone through your question and understand your concerns that you are having throat discomfort.

Based on your clinical details, it appears to be mucosal injury over roof of throat secondary to constant clearing and acid reflux.

I suggest you to follow the measures, to overcome your discomfort.

1. stop clearing the throat.

2. salt water gargling

3. anti allergic medications like tab. cetrizine 10mg one tab at the bed time.

4. Continue prilosec with domperidone combination before food as per your treating doctor for 3 weeks.

5. Another antibiotic course needed as sputum building up due to cough.

6. steam inhalation,

7. stop smoking (if you are with this habit).

Kindly discuss with your treating doctor, about these instructions and medications as above medications should be taken under supervision.

Hope this answers your question, if you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Wishing you good health.
