Suggest Treatment For Morning Sickness During Pregnancy

default
Posted on Fri, 13 Mar 2015
Question: I am 14 weeks pregnant. I had horrible morning sickness, but it has since left me as of a few weeks ago. In the night, I woke up sick but was just yellow bile. I then got sick 4 more times in a 4 hour period, throwing up nothing but dark brown blood. I called the Dr on call, and he said as long as I didn't have any other risk factors that go with that to just monitor symptoms. He didnt seem concerned at all. My husband and 3 yr old have both had the flu this past week, but neither were sick at their stomach. Should I be concerned?

Brief Answer:
precautions advised

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, understand your anxiety.
It is common to have vomiting off and on in pregnancy but dark brown color is usually not there.
It has no relation with flu.
Try to have small meals at frequent intervals because in case large amount is taken at a time then you will feel indigestion and nausea.
Dry stuff like dry fruits and biscuits in between meals is also good.
Take cottage cheese chunks and pulses in the form of sprouts.
Chocolates and candies also help in improved appetite.
In case similar episode is repeated then visit your gynecologist for examination
I hope above measures will help you.
Regards
Dr Manisha
