Brief Answer:
consult a neurologist and get investigation

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question.
Memory problem is usually an age related problem caused by degeneration of brain with volume loss called as alzheimers disease. The percentage of people suffering from alzheimers increases
with age. Some patients have other problems along with dementia like behavioural abnormalities, urinary incontinence, speech abnormalities, hallucination.
Moreover secondary causes of dementia like head trauma, metabolic cause like hypothyroidism, vitamin deficiency, depression, infection are to be ruled out.
I would suggest you to consult a neurologist for proper evaluation and investigation for treatment.
Your father may need a brain Mri, blood tests like blood sugar, Thyroid profile, vitamin B12 levels, urea, creatinine and other relevant test as required.
So consult a neurologist.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you and your family good health.
