Suggest Treatment For Lump With Discharge On Scalp, Forehead And Neck
Question: My 6 year old granddaughter has weeping bumps on her scalp, the forehead and the nape of her neck. She has them in her scalp as well and there are some new ones on her hand, leg and back they are so far just bumps.
Do you have any suggestions?

Weeping bumps on scalp,forehead,nape of neck and now on hands can be impetigo (bacterial infection).
I would like to know
for how long these lesions are there?
Are there scales over the lesion?
Is it itchy or painful?
The other possibility is seborrheic dermatitis may be with secondary infection.
Topical and oral antibiotic will be needed in case of impetigo or secondary infection in seborrheic dermatitis.
Skin diseases Are better diagnosed by direct visualisation.

I think the bumps are appearing on her trunk and buttocks. Probably 5 more in the last hour. I tried to upload photos to reports.
She complained of an itchy scalp this morning upon waking and then about 7 hours later we noticed that there were more. There are not scales over lesions some look like blisters and other like bugbites. They are incredibly itchy but that is the only symptom as she does not have a rash.
I meant to say she does not have a fever (not rash).

I am so sorry for delayed reply.Actually there was some network connectivity problem due to bad weather.
I have gone through the images.Although the images are not very clear.
Correlating all the findings like rapidly spreading papular itchy lesion over scalp,forehead,limbs and buttock and after going through the images I would like to rule out papular urticaria first.
The management is oral antiallergic like cetrizine and topical mild steroid like mometasone.
The common cause is hypersensitivity to insect bites,bug bites etc.
Regular use of insecticide and mosquito repellent helps in preventing the recurrence.
So I would suggest you to get him evaluated by a pediatrician to confirm the diagnosis and get a prescription for management.
