Suggest Treatment For Lump On Forearm

Question: I am a 67 year old male who never ventures into the sun but about 9-10 months ago I discovered a lump om my l. forearm that is raised pink, irregular border and has a crusty surface. It doesnt bleed or ooze . I have been told that the crusty part was plaque or dead skin but I'm not sure!
Anyway......... last night I accidentally hit the crusty part and of course it came off! I put alcohol on it and covered it with a band aid! This morning I pulled off the band aid and where the crusty part was started to bleed! Is this normal and will it crust over again assuming its BCC?
I covered it again a minute or so ago and put alchohol on it.
From all I have read and seen it appears NOT to be SCC and not melanoma as melanoma buy all intents and purposes is almost always a Black surface.
From looking at the picture I am sending does it appear to be BCC or SCC?
My thoughts are and I could be wrong but it doesnt appear to be Melanoma because I have seen pics of Melanoma and read about it but they almost always seem to be dark colored or black!

Brief Answer:
It can be BCC. It does not look like a melanoma malignum.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

It does not look like a melanoma indeed. And it can be a BCC indeed. The type of growth, tendency to bleed make a cancer possible. But it may be a benign lesion as well. No one will tell it for sure. Its because every cancer can look different. You can not simply check in the internet and compare to yours. It does not work that way.

Moreover, there is a melanoma type which is completely colorless. Such melanoma is build of highly benign cells. This cells multiply so fast, that there is no time to produce dark color.

I suggest you to do not wait with it any longer. The best you can and should do is to consult general surgeon or dermatologist, have it removed and tested by a pathologist. Only after this, you will get accurate diagnose.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.

Brief Answer:
Yes, it looks like BCC.

Detailed Answer:
Yes, it looks like BCC. But it does not mean it is a BCC. Skin cancer usually appears on face. Arm location is less frequent.
So the same lesion on face could be BCC in 90%. Arm lesion makes is less possible, but still.
Removal is what will tell for sure.

Regards.
