Suggest Treatment For Lump Near The Ear

default
Posted on Mon, 15 Feb 2016
Question: When i place my finger very deep below my jaw bone, very near my ear, i can find a very hard lump (pea size) attached to the bone. When i made my dentist touch it he told me it is probably a swollen gland. But then, when i went home, i realised that i have exactly the same pea sized hard lump at the other side of my face as well. So i dont think is a swollen lump. I wonder what it might be? Do i need to have it tested?

Brief Answer:
You are most probably having Bilateral Neck lymph node or mastoid bone tip

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the query.

I have read your query and understand your concern.

As per your clinical history it appears that you are most probably having Bilateral Neck lymph node or you are palpating bilateral mastoid bone tip .

I would advice kindly upload pictures of hard lump with finger pointing in that area .

In both case no need to worry . Bilateral Neck lymph nodes swelling common due to repeated upper respiratory track infection . They will subside with anti inflammatory tablet & antiseptic mouth gargles.

Bilateral mastoid bone tip is palpable normally .

Hope this information helpful to you .If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.

Regards.
