Brief Answer:
Could be muscle knot
Your problem needs certain investigations

Detailed Answer:
Hi there.

Thanks for the query.

Is the lump bony hard or firm to soft on touching?

Any pain on pressure?

Lump in the shoulder could be due to variety of causes like bone of soft tissue tumors, pus collection, cysts etc. In your case it could be a localised area of muscle spasm or knot.

It is advisable to get Xray, ultrasound of the region of the lump and review with me. Apply warm packs to the affected region. Avoid weight lifting of overhead activities if it is painful to do so.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.

Hi it is hard like a bone but moves slightly. Almost up and down. There is no pain whatsoever apart from it hurting occasionally. Should I request tests from my doctor. She did say there isn't a anything that can do to see it.

Needs ultrasound scan

It is better to get an ultrasound of the lump to get a good idea as to what it could be. Helps to rule out muscle spasm, tumors.
