Brief Answer:
Fluids alone should be sufficient for passage

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
It is difficult for most kidney stones to get dissolved. Only 10% of kidney stones are made of pure uric acid and are capable of getting dissolved completely by urinary alkalinization. The rest 90% of stones will have elements of Calcium in the stones, and are likely to persist despite urinary alkalinization.
However, size is important, and a 5 mm stone is not really large, and is capable of passing out on its own. The ureter is usually able to expel stones less than 6mm spontaneously in most of the cases, and in fact if stents have been placed, the ureter would have become more capacious and compliant, and should be able to pass the 5 mm stone without causing too much of pain if the stone should leave the kidney and enter the ureter.
The only complicating factor is that a lower pole stone is relatively less likely to pass than an upper pole or middle pole stone, which is usually due to gravity and few other factors.
As of now, you are not likely to need any significant medications.
You can certainly try using Citrate syrup orally thrice a day diluted with water to be taken after meals to help alkalinize the urine, and plenty of oral fluids distributed through the day so that the urine output is clear, and over 2-3 litres in 24 hours. Restricting salt could also be useful.
Oral HydroChlorthiazide at 12.5 - 25 mg / day might act as a mild diuretic and could help the stone by increasing the urine output while also reducing the calcium in urine, thereby reducing the chances of stone formation in the future.
Hope I have been able to help you.
