Brief Answer:
Needs further investigations

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

Thanks for the query

Do you have low back pain that radiates to the lower limbs?

Have your sustained any trauma?

Have you done any investigations like Xray or MRI?

Usually low back pain in your age group without significant trauma us due to slip disc, bad posture and not competing ergonomic protocol at work.

Avoid bending forwards or lifting weights. Apply hot packs to the affected region. Take Tablet Diclofenac with Thicolchicoside combination twice a day after meals and Tablet Rabeprazole twice a day for 5 days before meals. Apply Volini gel.

Do upload an Xray of your lumbosacral spine for my reference, to look for any crack of slip off your back bone.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.

Brief Answer:
Slip disc

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your reply.

The symptom of radiating pain could indicate a slip disc.

Do tell me the findings of your MRI if possible, as it would help to shed more light on your condition to help decide best treatment.

Brief Answer:
Slip disc. Plain new MRI. Epidural steroid injection

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

Thanks for uploading the MRI Report.

As suspected, you have a slip disc which is pressing on the nerves travelling to the back of the legs.

Since this report is 3 years old, I'd you feel the symptoms have worsened you can get another MRI to see if the slip disc has progressed.

You can benefit from Epidural steroid injection but it is advisable to get a new MRI done first.

Should I go for X-ray or MRI?

Answered by Dr. Aashish Raghu (9 hours later)
Brief Answer:
MRI

Detailed Answer:
Since you have slip disc, it wouldn't show up on an Xray.

You need a new MRI to see how much the slip disc has increased.
