Brief Answer:
Considerations

Detailed Answer:
hello and thank you for sending the question.

It does sound like you may be dealing with a sinus infection. These are most often caused by viruses. A sinus infection can run for several days or sometimes even more than a week. Symptoms include congestion, drainage, headache as well as fluctuating warm and cold sensations. these sensations may or may not be associated with a fever at the same time.

your immune system is currently mounting a response to the infection and hopefully within a couple of days you should be feeling gradually better. If for some reason your symptoms persist or worsen over the next several days you might need to touch base with your primary care doctor.

occasionally antibiotics might be considered for a persistent sinusitis.

thank you again for sending a question.

Sincerely,

Dr. Galamaga
