Question: Does 20 percent ejection rate during HIDA scan with CKK (no pain during test), usually no severe pain, no stones, upper abdominal discomfort and early satiety, indicate the need for gallbladder removal?

Brief Answer:
Get the gallbladder out.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. With low ejection fraction and previous history of sludge, odds of future complications are high where decreased gall bladder motility can lead to stones and mucoceles . So right now when there is mild discomfort, elective cholecystectomy using minimal invasion like spider laproscopic procedure with only one port of a few millimeters should be considered for cholecystectomy .

Nutshell, get the procedure done , it has better results compared to keeping a low functioning gallbladder. If you are worried about the procedure, you may delay it with 3 monthly to 6 monthly follow up. Talk to your surgeon and let them decide what is best for you.

I hope it helps. take good care of yourself and don't forget to close the discussion please.

Khan
