Posted on Mon, 17 Aug 2015
Question: For 3 days I have had loose stools, bloating, gas pains, aching, no nausea, no fever but have had chills.
Just wondering if it is a virus or could be more serious. I am rarely ever sick.

Brief Answer:
Sounds non serious with caution

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

With the description of your new symptoms and taking into account your overall health and negligible serious medical history it should be non serious illness technically. Yeah a virus may be.

However over 70 yrs of age and illness over 3 days not responding to immodium you would deteriorate swiftly when something odd happens. It is still a recommendation to visit a local physician or RN at least. Keep a tab on the amount of stool and urine you pass each time and number of times, drink non caffeinated beverages to compensate loss.

Hope this helps you decide.
