default
Posted on Wed, 5 Aug 2015
Question: Hi, I have colon pain left side, not strong pain like a stab. It is a discomfort, more than pain. I have had now nearly every day for more than a month. It alternates at the top left and then bottom left, sometimes bottom back. I have always had colon pain, especially when under stress and my mum has too. I go regularly to the toilet but I can have sometimes a bit stipsy. no blood in stools. when I walk or do exercise the discomfort alleviates. I have more in bed in the evening, but if I sleep left side, it goes away.

Brief Answer:
It could be Colon pain or Kidney pain.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Mam.
Have you got it checked by a Physician or got it evaluated earlier.
It could be Colonic pain or also could he Kidney pain also.
You should get evaluated by your GP or a Surgeon who would be able to advice what it is.
You would require an Ultrasound abdomen and KUB to rule out any kidney problems. If the kidneys are normal without any problems then you might need a Colonoscopy to visualize the Colon.
Get the investigations done and let us know so we can guide you further with the treatment.
Take care and I look forward to hearing from you.
For the pain I usually advice my patients Tab Paracetamol or Cap Tramadol whenever needed.
