Question: I want to know for mild laryngomalacia treatment of my kid should I consult ENT specialist, pediatric gastroenterologist or pediatric pulmonologist. My worry is his weight gain is less, his birth weight was 2.3 Kg and now it is 4 Kg in 4 months. Also, I want to know what is the right time to consult with doctor for laryngomalacia.

Brief Answer:
Laryngomalacia gets corrected around 6 months of age

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Can understand your concerns.

Laryngomalacia occurs due to weak muscles of larynx and it usually gets corrected on it's own around 6 months of age. As the child grows, the muscles of larynx grow stronger and laryngomalacia gets corrected.

We also have to check calcium levels because if calcium levels are low then it takes more time for laryngomalacia to settle.

Weight of 4 kg is normal at 4 month of age. Laryngomalacia doesn't affect weight of child.

You should get the child examined by a pediatrician and ENT specialist every 2 month to see the improvement.

I hope this will help you.
Wishing your child good health.
Take care.
