Question: I am a women and I have ankylosing spondylitis. Lately, I have been experiencing a lot of joint pain. I am extremely tired all the time beginning about one month ago. I can hardly stay awake and am lethargic most of the time. I cannot seem to get enough sleep and I have no energy whatsoever. Can ankylosing spondylitis cause these symptoms? If so what do I do?

Brief Answer:
ankylosing spondylitis

Detailed Answer:
Good evening

thank you for writing on health care magic

Ankylosing spondylitis can cause a lot of joint pains and backache which can cause disturbance in daily activity and life style as it is an inflammatory disorder. I would like to know a few more queries before guiding you further:

1. When you say joint pains, which are the joints which are painful??

2. Is there any swelling in the joints as well??

3. Do you have backache or neck pain which awakens you in the night?

4. How do you feel in the mornings..Is it better or worse?

5. Did you get your blood test done recently...ESR/CRP??

6. Any medications you are taking for Ankylosing spondylitis

I have gone through your other history as well. But will try to see if your disease is active which is giving you these troubles or something else going on
