Suggest Treatment For Itchy Rashes On The Right Arm
Question: Hi. I got this(see attached images) on my right arm. It's a bit itchy. What could it be and what should i do? Thanks.
Brief Answer:
Looks like eczematous rash, cortisone cream & antihistaminic
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcaremagic
I have reviewed the attached photographs and it is looking like some eczematous rash.
If I was your treating doctor I would recommend you to apply topical steroid like cortisone cream on the affected areas twice daily and take antihistaminic like tablet Cetrizine 10 mg once daily at bedtime for 7-10 days.
This should resolve it.

Hi doctor. Thank you so much for taking the time to answer me. I used some cortisone cream and i think it calmed down. But i seem to have random itching all over my body, mostly legs, arms and back. There is no sign of rash or other thing. I did start to take some magnesium but not sure if i should see a doctor or not. Could you tell me your thoughts?
Thank you!
Thank you!
Brief Answer:
Can be due to magnesium, avoid it & take antihistaminic
Detailed Answer:
Hi
An allergic reaction can occur to anything even to magnesium.
I would recommend you to take oral antihistaminic like tablet Cetrizine 10 mg once or twice daily depending on the intensity of itching.
To check whether magnesium is the culprit for your itching avoid it for some days and if itching improves then it could be due to magnesium.
If even after taking antihistaminic for 2-3 days the itching doesn't subside then consult a doctor.
