Suggest Treatment For Itchy Pimple On The Forehead

Question: Good evening doctor,
Around 2 years ago one morning I woke up with a little pimple on my forehead that looked like some bite of insect or herpes, so I didn't worry much and I just let it go. Every day I was feeling itching and after 4-5 days "pimple" was gone. Next time showed up after 5-6 months and again and again continuously in same period of time. Since I was working on the ship I didn't have chance to visit my doctor in my homeland, and twice I went to a doctor on board, but every time I got same answer, got a cream for rush and advice to come back in 5-6 days if its still there, but since this "pimple" has its own timing and always stay as a guest for 5-6 days, I never got chance to get there again and explain them that i believe that something is wrong there.
I cant really remember when it was the last time when i had it, aproximately 8 months but this morning I notice it again and I would really appreciate for some more detail opinion and advice since I am getting really worried with it. Forgot to mention that sometimes I was feeling a bit of deep pain in that place in forehead but not really strong, and usually one night before pops out.

Brief Answer:
Bacterial skin infection; should resolve in about a week with antibiotics

Detailed Answer:
Hi. Thank you.
I have viewed the Image. I can also see some discharge and crusting.
It is a bacterial skin infection i.e a furuncle. It should resolve in about 5-7 days on oral and topical antibiotics.
If I was the treating doctor I would suggest a course of an Oral antibiotic e.g Amoxicillin 500mg Or Cephalexin 500mg thrice daily for a week.
Topically you may use an antibacterial cream or ointment e.g mupirocin 2% cream or fusidic acid 2% cream, twice daily.

Thank You for answer dr. Kakkar S. , I will try with the therapy that you recomended, just my concern is why is constantly showing on the same place and how I would be able to get rid of it forever, and not resolving ot just for a few months time?!

Hi.

There is no reason as to why it should recur at the very same place unless it is an underlying sebaceous cyst which gets repeatedly infected. Yes these are prescription medications. I suggest that you talk to your doctor for the needful.
