Suggest Treatment For Itching Sensation On Genital Area
Question: I am very itchy in the genital area and do not know if it is a yeast infection. I have never had one before.

Hello mam, I understand your health concern.
It is common to have genital infection in your age because of the genital pH change due to various age related changes.
Take a note of following points -
- keep the genital area dry
- use pH balance soaps
- use vaginal wash (vWash, Intiwash) daily after taking bath
- take tablet floreva or ecoflora twice a day for fifteen days
- apply cloben G ointment daily twice a day for 7 days
- insert a vaginal pessary clotrimazole 200 mg for 3 days.
In case itching persists then visit a gynecologist for examination.
Also get your blood sugar levels checked.

I have never been to a gynecologist, only to my family doctor. What can a gynecologist do that my family doctor can not? Should I see a gynecologist or is it from he just seeing my family doctor?
