Suggest Treatment For Itching And Inflammation On The Penis

default
Posted on Tue, 17 Mar 2015
Question: Hello. So let me start from the beginning. One day I started scratching my penis because it was itching. I did so without much notice just because. Maybe the next morning I look down and I have a flesh wound on the side of my penis, just a little bit bellow the head. After awhile I had realized it might be a yeast infection so I got some meds for it to hopefully help. It healed up and all their is, is a scar to show where it was. My only issue now is that their is this discomfort I get from time to time that doesn't hurt. It feels like an itch but I'm not inclined to itch it if that makes sense. Sometimes it lasts for a minute and then it's gone. Sometimes it lasts for 30 mins. ive gotten this far without feeling the need to go to the doctors and I still don't but I was wondering if you could give any advice/input. Thanks.

Brief Answer:
likely to be due to persistent inflammation

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

Dear Sir

As the wound has completely healed with application of anti-fungal ointment, your assumption that it was due to fungal infection was right.

The itching could be due to scarring and residual inflammation.

I would suggest you the following

1. Thoroughly wash the area with soap and water thrice a day, especially by pulling back the skin if you are uncircumcised.

2. Hot Seitz Bath: To a tub of lukewarm water add 2 spoons of antispetic solution. Sit in it for 15 to 20 minutes each session twice a day

3. Local application of Combination of steroid and antifungal ointment twice a day for 2 weeks

Do get back to me with clinical photograph for exact assessment.

Take care
