Brief Answer:
prevention and medication go hand in hand.

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Welcome to Health Care Magic.
My name is Dr Muhammad Ahmad & i will look into your problem.

I have gone through your query and all other things related to your problem from your previous question, that you posted 5 days back, and the discussion which it resulted afterwards. I would try to help you in the best possible way.I do understand your concern.I can probably discuss few options with you which can help you.

Suggestions:

In your circumstances you can try to work on following points to make your symptoms go, or at least fade.

1- Use disposable nose mask to protect your airways and lungs.
2- You should stay away from respiratory irritants like dust, transport smoke and tobacco smoke.
3- You might want to ask your supervisor at job, not to post you inside a smoking area, for some days.
4- In my clinic I also suggest patients having similar issues,an antihistamine tablet or syrup to reduce symptoms and irritation.
5- Some people find it very soothing when they get some steam inhalation, you might want to try that.
6- Cough syrups have whole cocktail of drugs which protect lungs from allergic reactions and also make breathing easy, they can prove to be useful.
7- Some people get significant relief with broncho-dilator tablets.
8- Acid reflux sometimes worsens lung irritation you might find an antacid helpful in this regard.
9- Protect yourself from cold air inhalation.

By considering what I suggested, I am pretty sure you will find considerable relief in your symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help if not then don't forget to close the discussion and rate it.

Wishing you good health !!

Brief Answer:
Over the counter depends state to state.

Detailed Answer:
hi
thanks for writing back to me,

It is difficult for me to recommend a specific brand. Any good anti histamine or cough syrup would be worth trying because all of them out there, have almost same efficacy and same cocktail of drugs combined in one syrup.

You may take cetrizine which is considered non-sedative or you may take allegra-d which may cause sedation.

Hope that answered your question, if you have more questions I am happy to answer, if not then please close the discussion and rate the answer.

Wish you health
