Suggest Treatment For Internal Bleeding After A Dog Bite

default
Posted on Tue, 17 Mar 2015
Question: I broke up a dog fight 2 days ago and got bit in the calf in the process. It's a really nasty bruise that is very tender to the touch (more sore today than yesterday). The bite also broke the skin in several places. It did not bleed, it's more like an abrasion. I have put bandages with Neosporin over the abrasions for two days now. The whole area is very tender and getting very itchy. The wounds are not weeping but the itching is becoming bothersome. If it was infected, it would weep and the area would be red and hot, right?

Brief Answer:
Internal bleeding has caused all these symptoms

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

I have gone through your uploaded pic which suggests that there was a internal bleeding following the dog bite which is causing all these symptoms.

If I would have been your treating doctor I would have advised you to follow

1. Take Inj TT

3.Active immunization with anti rabies vaccine on days 0 (Day of first shot) ,3,7,14 and 28.

2.Passive immunization with RIGs (Rabies Immunoglobulins) around the wound.

3.Oral antibiotic like Tab Augmentin, twice daily for five days.

4.Topical T-Bact ointment.

I would suggest you to visit your ER at the earliest to take aforementioned treatment which will helps to resolve all your problems.
Thank you.
