Suggest Treatment For Inflamed And Sore Spot On Gums

Question: Hello Dr XXXXXXX my girlfriend has this sore on her gum which seems to be a bit inflamed, she's had it for about a week and it doesn't seem to be subsiding in size (attached pic) what do you think it could be and what do you suggest the best treatment for it would be, thanks for your time

Hello and thanks for consulting HCM.

i have gone through your query and seen your report(picture) also.

it seems to be a gum boil or we can say a periodontal abscess.

it can occur due to various reasons like:
~injury to the related tooth
~infection in the gums and periodontal tissue

if the same case would have come to my clinic i would have:
~ taken a x ray to see the amount of infection.
~ done proper ultrasonic scaling(cleaning).

Don't worry as it is not a very serious problem and it can be treated easily.
