Posted on Fri, 17 Jun 2016
Question: Hi I have had indigestion, gas, chills every day or two for three months. I have had an edoscopy,no difinitive findings. So I was given xyfacson for two weeks and then pryobiotics for the last week. These systems have caused anxiety but I am getting a handle on that I take 40 mg of Prozac for 12 years (I am pretty healthy 63 6'2" 195 don't smoke or drink no drugs). In order to help in case it is a depressive or anxiety relapse my psychiatrist
Have added 15mg of bus porine twice a day ( started that 5 weeks ago) and also 25 mg of trasadone to help sleep. I have been eating small meals but my symptoms continue. They are a little better or I am handling them better not sure which one. Any help would be great thanks XXXXXXX

Detailed Answer:
Hello, and thanks for your question.

It is entirely possible these sensations could be related to, caused by, or worsened by anxiety. Buspirone is a weak anxiolytic, so after 5 weeks if it has not improved that medication may not be helping. I would suggest using an SSRI antidepressant, or if you are on one discuss increasing the dose with your psychiatrist. In time, you will get better.

Detailed Answer:
I would suggest speaking with your prescribing physician to consider increasing the dosage, perhaps to 60mg daily. Over time I would expect this to HELP with your anxiety and current symptoms.
