Question: I have dark skin in inner thighs near the scrotum. I have been to a dermatologist but they said it is mostly post inflammatory pigmentation Likely from friction and sweat. Since I started making sure area is dry and applying some powder it has decreased by 20-30% in 2-3 weeks but just wanted to check if there are any procedures available like laser or plastic surgery for skin graft etc or any other quick fixes thanks

Brief Answer:
Use an antifungal + mild steroid cream combination

Detailed Answer:
hello. Thank you for writing to us

I am dr.kakkar(dermatologist). i have gone through your query and i have noted your concern.

You a may use a mild topical steroid+antifungal cream combination e.g clotrimazole 1%+ beclomethasone 0.025% cream(clotrin B or canesten HC), twice daily for a few days. The antifungal component would take care of any residual fungus while the mild steroid content would improve the pigmentation.
