Brief Answer:
Omit Panderm plus, Chemical peels

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for posting on HCM.
The hyperpigmentation you are having is called Melasma.
Melasma is a condition where hyperpigmentation occurs on sunexposed parts of body most on face and is dictated by your hormonal profile.
Since both internal and external factors are implicated in causing melasma it is very notorious to treat and has high recuurence rate.
The cream that you were using i.e PANDERM PLUS is a good treatment option to start with but to continue for such along duration is not advisable because it contains ingredients like hydroquinone and steroid which can actually damage your skin in bad way.
Currently, the redness on face is due to over use of that cream and its called contact dermatitis.
I would advise you to gently withdraw the use of Panderm plus cream by decreasing its frequency to just twice a week ( say monday and thursday) and then after 2 weeks completely stop using it.
Also additionally apply a good moisturiser like Cetaphil DAM which will hasten the recovery of damaged skin.
After one week consider applying a safe skin lightening cream which contains kojic acid, tetrahydrocurcumin, liquorice extract etc ( MELAGLOW cream) twice a day. This cream can be used for months together without any side effects.
While on Melaglow, I would suggest you to get regular sessions of chemical peel done from a certified dermatologist. Chemical peels will help alot in clearing your melasma if done in right way.
Use a good sunscreen with high SPF everytime you step out in sun.
Hope the information was useful.
Please let me know if you have any confusion or you require any further assistance from my side.
Thanks and take care

Brief Answer:
Retinol or TCA peel with/without Microdermabrasion

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Dont worry, Melaglow cream (by Abbott) is totally safe and steroid free cream and that is exactly why I have recommended it to you.
There are many options of chemical peels for Melasma like Glycolic acid, Jessner peel, Pyruvic peel but of all two are my personal favourite- Retinol peel also known as Yellow peel and other is Trichloracetic acid (TCA) peel. For good results atleast 6-8 sessions of peels is a must.
Additionally, you can get sessions microdermabrasion or skin polishing where with help a machine upper dead layers of skin will be removed thus giving you bright rejuvenated skin.
Hope the information was useful.
Let me know if there are any more doubts.
Thanks

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Chemical peel is procedure which removes dead upper layers of skin and thus promoting skin regeneration. The efficacy of any peel comes with multiple sittings and time. It is seen in practice that a series of 6 peels placed at 15 days interval brings good results in majority of patients but the total number of sessions of peel varies from person to person and severity of condition.

As I have advised previously start Melaglow after one week application of Cetaphil DAM so that the risk of irritation is minimized and meanwhile start tapering Panderm Pus cream as I advised before.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I prescribe Melaglow cream as a maintainence treatment for my patients of Melasma. Though it is slow to act but at the same time it is very safe to be used for longer period. I recommend it for atleast 6 months in maintainence period. 30gm tube will be cost effective. There are no side effects of stopping the cream as it doesnot contain hydroquinone and steroid.
Chemical peels is a procedure that should be done only by a certified dermatologist and it should not be attempted at home.
It is not mandatory to go for peels but it will definitely bring an augmented response in your melasma.
Let me know if there are any more doubts.
