Suggest Treatment For Hot Flashes While On Effexor
Question: I am taking Effexor for relief of hot flashes since cancer problem. Out of medication due to doctor being on holiday and office close for 3 more days. Hot flashes very bad. What can I use temporarily until doctor can refill my prescription?

Hot flashes are actually a set of symptoms. You did not describe what do you have. Is it warm skin?
There is nothing which FDA approved for hot flashes other than Effexor, Fluoxetine. You need prescription for most of them to buy.
You can try Primrose oil application, drink soy milk and use Black cohosh which are only mildly effective over the counter remedies. Vitamin E supplements are a norm during hot flashes. Keep sipping ice cold water which is an effective home remedy sometime works well.
Since it is a estrogen deficiency stage that causes hot flashes phytoestrogens are normally given.

I am on the generic brand of Effexor , Venafaxine 225 mg ER...would you be able to fax a prescription to my pharmacy at H.E.B at 1 (210) 223-2735? How much additional cost to my for this? Hot flashes are so bad.
