Brief Answer:
voice rest, humidifier, pain med if needed, throat spray

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The laryngitis would be due to viral infection of the larynx with likely some inflammation of the pharynx as well.

Treatment involves: (1) AS you would expect, resting your voice is at the top of the list for treatment.
If you have to talk, talk softly , do not whisper. Whispering actually strains the voice more

(2)If there is any pain at all, even mild, consider an anti inflammatory pain killer. Inflammation is part of the whole process so using one of these medications would help reduce the inflammation that is present.
Eg ibuprofen, naproxen, cataflam, voltaren

(3)if you smoke, it would be best to temporarily stop , this would speed up recovery

(4)inhalation of humidified air- this helps to get rid of secretions that may be present. If you have a humidifier, it would be helpful

(5)there was one medical study that looked at throat sprays with osmolyte ectoine. It found that these sprays were helpful for some persons eg ectoin mouth spray.

Mostly it is rest, decreased talking and allowing the body to heal

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
