Question: Hi, I am 59 healthy male with healthy diet, never smoked, alcohol intake zero, attending gym 3x a week. I take no medication. I have always had great blood pressure readings. Over last couple of days I felt light headed when I bend over so I have checked my blood pressure with at home monitor, readings were 137/75 in the afternoon, next day morning 136/59.... This seems high to me?

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

I understand your concern and would explain that your symptoms could be related to sinus infection or cervical column chronic degenerations (cervical spondylarthrosis).

An inner ear disorder, could also cause this symptomatology.

Do you have other symptoms like neck pain, running or blocked nose, headaches?

Your blood pressure values seem to be within the normal ranges.

I would recommend consulting with your attending physician for a careful physical exam and some tests:

- a sinus X ray study
- a cervical column X ray study
- some blood lab tests (complete blood count, PCR, sedimentation rate, blood electrolytes).

If all the above tests result normal, I would recommend consulting with the ENT specialist and perform labyrinthine tests for possible inner ear disorder.

You should discuss with your doctor on the above tests.

Hope to have been helpful!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri
