Brief Answer:
Conservative treatment first.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

The main problem of herniated disc disease is pain, numbness is another problem but of less concerns than pain.

Besides loosing weight, conservative treatment is a feasible first course of action to treat the symptoms of herniated disc disease. Treatment modalities range from anti-inflammatory therapy ( Ibuprofen for example ) to exercises designed to increase muscle strength and relieve joint loading and physical therapy.

Pregabalin also may be used to ease numbness.

If there is no improvement after one or two months, surgery should be considered.

Discuss with your treating Doctor about these issues.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Le me know if I can assist you further.

Greetings.
