Brief Answer:
sitz baths, oral and topical pain killers, stool softener

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Acute hemorrhoids can be very painful

Treatment: (1) an oral anti inflammatory pain killer such as cataflam, naproxen or ibuprofen would be helpful to reduce your pain

These are over the counter meds. Take one regularly at suggested dosing, till the pain is better

(2)a stool softener so that you do not need to strain while the hemorrhoids are acting up eg ducolax stool softener

(3)avoid prolonged sitting or standing, used a donut cushion when sitting

(4)when you have a bowel movement during this time, dab not wipe. Dab with a flushable wipe or wet toilet paper to avoid aggravating the hemorrhoids

(5)using topical pain killers if non is present in the suppository you are using eg topical lidocaine applied directly (or over petrolatum if painful directly) would also help with pain

(6) sitz baths would help to reduce the size of the hemorrhoids and the pain.
These can be done 2 to 3 times daily in warm (not hot) water for 15 to 20 mins.
Warm water with salt or epsom salt can be helpful

To reduce the chance of future episodes, you would need to prevent constipation by using enough fluids daily (at least 8 glasses unless there is a medical reason) and lots of fruits , vegetables and whole grain foods.
A fiber supplement such as benefiber, metamucil and cetrucil , may also help as well.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
