Brief Answer:
sinusitis

Detailed Answer:
Hello, thanks for posting in Healthcaremagic

Headache in eight year old child is uncommon but if its occuring repeatedly over quite sometime then certain things has to be excluded.
1. Get the eyes checked for refraction error which is a common problem
2. Have xray of paranasal sinuses done as this can result in headache particularly associated with running nose.

If nothing is found in the above then dont worry it will go away. But if the headache increases with time and there is associated problem like nausea vomiting, photophobia then MRI brain may be required.

In the mean time use paracetamol as and when required

Hope this will help.

Her pediatrician has suggested to se a neurologist is that needed?

She had given her a prescription antihistamine and that did not work. She does not have mucus or a cold or an infection.

Is the eye exam you mention refraction error a separate exam cause she had an eye exam and she does not need glasses.
