Suggest Treatment For Head Injury With Symptoms Of Fracture Of Orbital Wall

default
Posted on Thu, 19 Mar 2015
Question: I hit the left side of my forehead pretty hard on Saturday getting into my car, and it produced a very large "goose egg" but did not break the skin. I iced it on and off for several hours, and most of the swelling went away. Then Sunday night I noticed that I had bruising over my left eye under the brow...looked almost like purple eyeshadow. Now this morning, my left eyelid is totally bruised and there is bruising out from the corner of the eye down toward my cheek. Is this normal, or should I be concerned?

Brief Answer:
You need to see a neurosurgeon

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case and I think it can not be ignored. You are developing symptoms of black eye. It is common due to head injury with fracture of orbital wall. This leads to blood accumulating near eye lid. It can cause deteriorated vision, double vision , blurring of vision.
I would suggest you to meet a Neurosurgeon and get CT scan of the brain. it will also tell us if there is any blood collection. Do not put any eye drops. Ice application is acceptable. If neurosurgeon feels than he can also take opinion of eye specialist.
You should meet doctor as soon as possible.
I hope this answer helps you. Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks
