Brief Answer:
Hay Fever

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for your question.

Zyrtec for the hay-fever was the right choice. Keep in mind that no medication offers a %100 guarantee, as you have seen. In this case, it doesn't seem like the zyrtec worked. Certainly, we shouldn't be seeing hives while on zyrtec.

Considering the eyes are so prominently swollen, an eye drops treatment should be considered. Additionally, a different oral antihistamine medication should be used to treat the hay-fever, and the hives. Oral Loratidine is usually a good choice.

So, in summary, an oral alternative oral antihistamine, and eye drops for allergic eyes, should be considered here. I recommend you consult with your doctor so that the appropriate treatment plan can be implemented.
